SimpleQuiz Privacy Policy

SimpleQuiz ("the App") helps Shopify merchants build product quizzes for their storefronts. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and how it is handled. By installing the App you agree to this policy.

Information we collect from merchants

When you install SimpleQuiz, we receive your shop’s myshopify domain and an API access token scoped to the permissions you grant during installation (reading products and files). We store your shop domain, your subscription plan, and the quizzes you create — including questions, answer options, styling, and discount codes you choose to display. We do not read or store your customers’ orders, payment details, or store passwords.

Information we collect from shoppers

When a shopper completes a quiz on a merchant’s storefront, we store their answers and — only if the merchant enables the contact step and the shopper chooses to provide it — a name and email address. We also record anonymous interaction events (quiz views, answers chosen, products viewed or clicked, discount codes copied) so merchants can see how their quizzes perform. These events contain no personally identifying information, and the App sets no tracking cookies in the storefront.

How the data is used

Quiz responses and analytics are collected solely so the merchant you interacted with can review them in their admin dashboard. We do not sell, rent, or share any merchant or shopper data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

Where the data lives

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database and application servers hosted in the European Union (Amsterdam). All traffic between your store, your shoppers, and the App is encrypted with HTTPS.

Data retention & deletion

The App implements Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks. If a shopper asks the merchant for their data or its deletion, Shopify relays that request to us and we honor it. When a merchant uninstalls SimpleQuiz, the shop’s access token is invalidated immediately and the shop’s data — quizzes, responses, and analytics — is deleted in line with Shopify’s 48-hour shop-redaction request.

Billing

Paid plans are billed entirely through Shopify’s billing system. We never see or store your payment details.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
